Important please read! Re-Post!!
Local band Day One Symphony were involved in a very serious accident on there way to a Dredg show in San Francisco recently. They are honestly lucky to be alive. They have amassed a large amount of medical bills which the person responsible would have covered with their insurance. but since the party fled the expenses are unaccounted for. Below is a summary regarding the events. If you can assist in any way possible, please contact them via the information provided. Thank you for reading, please re-post even if you do not know them personally it may still help.

The CHP is calling the accident a hit-and-run, meaning the driver who hit Dave's car fled the scene and has not turned him/herself in. For the sake of the guys and everyone else involved in the accident, I think it is time to take action and see what the collective power of the Day One Symphony community can do.

Obviously there were many other drivers on the road at the time of the accident. Sometimes people will see something important, but assume the police have it all covered. So we're looking for anyone who saw ANYTHING related to the accident and specifcally the car that started the whole thing by hitting Dave's car. Here are the basic details of the accident:

May 11th, at 8:40pm
Highway 101 Northbound, 1/5 mile south of the Caesar Chavez/Potrero Ave exit in San Francisco.
Dave's car: Gold 1997 Mazda Protege

The guys describe a white sedan, but they don't know a make or model. It hit them on the passenger's side of the car, between the front door and front fender. The dent left by the car is visible in the photos posted on the flickr page. The car that hit them will most likely have damage to its front bumper on the driver's side.

If you saw ANYTHING, it can be potentially very helpful to the CHP. A partial plate number, even just the make and model of the car would help us immensely.

Please pass this info on to anyone you think may be able to help. Copy it into a bulletin, email it to your friends. Disseminate this information any way you can. This person has a week headstart on us trying to hide from what they've done. Hopefully, someone saw something that can help us and we just need them to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact the band here on MySpace or the CHP San Francisco office at 415-557-1094.

Not knowing who the repsonsible driver is puts us in a difficult situation. Presumably that person's insurance would have covered the medical costs associated with the accident and now we aren't sure how that will be covered. We will keep you updated on how that goes and what help might be needed. I have pledged to each of the guys that we will do everything we can to make sure they don't bear ANY of the financial burden for this accident because it was not their fault.

These guys are all happy to have your support throughout this ordeal and as they continue to heal. Thank you so much.

I have been sleeping underground. I am climbing out slowly but my eyes still hurt from my new friend called sun. Beauty and good can hurt as well but I want to lay in the light. I want truth, I want to be broken, and I want to reflect all that is real. My chest is filling. May it never be drained of love again....

Quick trip to Santa Barbara proved to feel like a weeks worth of time. Jesse, Allison and I left late last night to Pismo Beach where we slept at Allison's mom's vacation home. In the pretty early hours of this morning we were off to SB which is pretty stale and generic(at least the part we roamed around). We didn't stay there terribly long and decided to drive 1 back to San Luis. The whole trip reminded me of tour except a much smaller vehicle and no show to play. I was relaxed and connected. There seemed to be a genuine flow to the day and a half excursion which I also appreciated. Lots of discussion between the three of us and lots of walking as well. There was also in no particular order a lot of the following:

- Hell Beach
- Schizophrenic Homeless Lady
- SLO
- A Horror Film Bathroom Shack
- Zoe
- A Very Sleepy Paul McCullough
- MoMo
- A Very Smelly Jordan Jolliff
- Unbelievable Vegetarian Food
- The FAKE Creamery
- Muffins
- Courtroom Action
- Baby Gulls
- Waffle

and a whole other slew of goodness involved. Not to mention a pretty fatal mustache. Devendra hung out for most of the trip but would randomly disappear. We didn't see him the last half of the drive home. Hope he's doing ok.

In completely unrelated news, I have been looking to purchase a second overdrive pedal. I am very interested in trying out a Full Tone Overdrive/Octave but everywhere I have been(yes, even Lightning Jack's) has been out of stock. Probably have to check San Francisco for one of those deals. I tested out a vintage DOD that was pretty sweet but need a comparison to make a proper decision. I will have to hold off with my Catalin Bread Chili Picoso for now. Building quite the little pedal board. Got myself an Electro Harmonix Analog Echo/Chorus a few weeks back and an RFX PanelO Tremolo. Just need a volume pedal and another tuner to run my 2nd amp. Also would like to get that Small Stone Phaser back in the mix as well as a sampler.

Wanting an iPod 60G video as well as an external hard drive to finally properly back up all of my music.

My birthday is coming up ya know...

Nerd. I am.

Anyhow still trying to decide on a band name for my new project. I know that Chatter is working really well for now. Any suggestions? Let me know. I am getting tired of being in bands with only one name names.

I start working at Harker again on Monday which should be refreshing to say the least. Looking into school and I think De Anza may win in that area. I need a quiet classroom and it seems that would be an ideal setting.

The last 4 months have been pretty incredible. I am finally able to say I am happy with myself.
Looking forward to the next few years.

Love,

Rob

Names. Descriptions. What purpose do they serve other than giving the comfort that something is identified? There is no comfort there. That is false security. I know this because I have found and keep a true and pure love that transcends all titles, names and descriptions.

In other news...

I think I named(TITLED) my new band. It is called
quiet quiet chatter

what do you think?

How is that for practicing what I preach? My new band is the epitome of insecurity.

I really am probably the most profound/hilarious person you know. But to be honest these kinds of thoughts really do cross my mind.

I love you.

I am sick. Body flu sinus hell. Christmas was awesome. I wore a giant shark costume to work. Fever dreams last night. I thought there were people pulling in and out of the driveway I kept getting out of bed and almost falling down. Fix me fix me fix me quick.

Rob

P.S. I deleted my MySpace account. I am trying to be as tangible as possible.

P.P.S. I am a gay anorexic now.

Here is a list of my top eleven(tired of ten) albums for the year. Discuss, disagree, make your own. Share music. It is important.

My Morning Jacket - Z

* This record came out of nowhere for me and I hated it initially. It will probably stand as my favorite of the year.

Tera Melos - S/T

* Best guys ever. Best live band ever. Hella should get a lesson.

Akron/Family & Angels of Light - S/T

* Freak out folk from Brooklyn that I never knew existed. Druuuuuuuugs.

Rogue Wave - Descended Like Vultures

* Such good songs. Apparently good opening bands as well. A lot going on with this record kind of claustrophobic.

Sufjan Stevens - Come On Feel The Illinoise!

* What could have easily been the most pretentious album of his career instead turned out to be his most accomplished and unaware. This is what an ALBUM is all about. Concept, flow, the works...

Day One Symphony - A Vicious Circle

* Some say they sound like Sigur Ros, I say good for them. It's about time San Jose had a good local band. I'll bet you love their next album.

Devendra Banhart - Cripple Crow

* People used to bring him poisoned food all because he isn't folk. Or is he? Either way don't eat the cookies at his shows.

Antony & The Johnsons - I Am A Bird Now

* The most honest heartbreaking thing I have heard in a long time. This is sadness, longing, and hope all wrapped in one beautiful gay transvestite's songs and they are gorgeous.

System Of A Down - Mezmerize

* Intelligent political freak out rock. Somehow they sell hundreds of thousands of records. I guarantee they will be around in another 10 years. Best harmonies since The Beatles.

Mice Parade - Bem-Vinda Vontade

* The rythms this man creates are pretty unbelievable. How he manages to make it simple and stick in your mind for days at a time is beyond me. Jazz pop.

Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine(Jon Brion Leak)

* She is officially a woman and has definitely honed her craft. Too bad this isn't the version on store shelves because it is so real and pure. She can be so fun and light or create the most sinister of scenes in your head.

Nods

Broken Social Scene - S/T
Animal Collective - Feels
Facing New York - S/T
Snowman - Zombies Over The Airwaves Of Paris
M83 - Before The Dawn Heals Us
Death Cab For Cutie - Plans
Sigur Ros - Takk...
Blackalicious - The Craft
Maida - Renaissance In Reverse

Well that wraps it up. This year had some good surprises in the way of music. 2006 will see the new Radiohead and my iPod and I can promise you Cat Power and Mogwai have got some serious stuff for you. If I don't see all of you may you have some happy holidays.

Love,

Rob

I found you standing by the dock. The boats kept moving on but still you waited. When I arrived we stood at the edge peering into the black. We wondered if the other would speak. I kept my mouth shut so you threw me in the dark. Out of habit I swam for a while and then grew tired of moving my limbs and sank slowly towards the bottom. It was really kind of nice. You should meet the bottom. You should know the endless fall until the weight meets its rest. My bed is at the bottom. You just make it warm.

Smile she said
so I did.

Flash. The camera speaks.

I feel as though I meant it.

Maybe I'll be her bookmark.

She could hang it on her wall. Or maybe she would show it to me when I was dying

and maybe I would laugh

looking forward to the next flash.
